Happy December Miss Black Illinois Fam!

Can you believe it’s the end of the year? So much has happened during 2011, but it still feels like it should really just be July.

Any who, diving right in…

I missed writing a Thanksgiving entry (got lost in the dressing) but it was great to see my friends and family again. I’ve really been a hermit during the entire year, so the holidays is always a fun time (especially when most of my college classmates come back home). I had to give thanks to my family and friends of the family who really stepped up during what I call a time of insanity. August, September, and October were extremely… challenging… as I moved, started grad school, worked, and threw myself into a pageant. My friends and family really kept me sane (well as sane as a neurotic, perfectionist Virgo can be) during this past fall:-)

Over the past weekend, I successfully finished my first quarter of grad school and interviewed with Akisha Lockhart of allineedisonemic.com. It was a great time and Akisha and her sister Regina had me laughing the whole time. Look out for coverage of our interview coming soon!

And lastly, without further ado, the official photos from the Miss Black Illinois Fashion Shoot have been posted! Check them out here!  http://www.facebook.com/MissBlackILUSA2012

Okay that’s it for now! Love you all!
